The Speed Project x Lululemon
TSP LALV is a 340 miles race, that starts at the Santa Monica Pier in Los Angeles, goes through the Death Valley and ends at the “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” sign. Commissioned by Lululemon for the release of their new Blissfeel shoe, along with my friend and colleague Zach Hetrick, we followed one of the 47 participating teams, an all-women team of 6 runners, who finished with a time of 52 hours and 26 minutes.
Hut Run Hut
Lead by Rickey Gates every year in the fall, a dozen or so runners from all over the world join him in a journey on foot - a 100 miles run from one hut to another - over the course of six days through Colorado’s stunning Rocky Mountains. Documented here for Bloomberg Businessweek.
Running with the Tarahumara
These images were shot in Urique, a small village in the Copper Canyon (Mexico), the central setting of Christopher McDougall’s 2009 bestselling book “Born to Run” and home to the indigenous Tarahumara people. Along with a group of journalists invited by Health Warrior, I had the pleasure of chasing Arnulfo Quimare, one of the best ultrarunners in the world and star of the book, up some of his steep and windy home trails, experience Mama Tita’s cuisine and get my hands on some handmade Huarache sandals.
Hood to Coast
Nike hired me to document the journey of the running team “Seoulites” during their own Hood to Coast relay in Oregon. Joining the team was the famous K-pop star singer Amber Liu, along with members of all different Korean running crews.
Giro d’Italia
Giro d’Italia is one of cycling's prestigious three-week-long Grand Tours (along with the Tour de France and Vuelta a España), an annual multiple-stage bicycle race, that takes pro-teams all over the Italian regions every year in May. Here I documented the stages for Selle Italia, one of the world’s leading saddle manufacturer, and also one of the main sponsors of the event.
